We are looking for new members of the LCA Board of Directors and volunteers of all abilities to drive forward our plans for an exciting and refurbished building for all to use – could that be YOU?

Who we are

Luddenden Foot Community Association was set up in 2005 with the objective of retaining the Civic Institute building at Luddendenfoot for continued use by the wider community. To refurbish the building to create a first class community building suitable for the 21st century.

Since then Luddendenfoot Community Association has been active in developing plans for the restoration of the building. Sourcing funding for the refurbishment work to be carried out.

Appointing an architect to draw up plans which include:-

  • Disabled access
  • Upgrade of toilet facilities
  • Upgrade of shower and changing facilities
  • Child focus centre for health and welfare
  • I.T. Suite
  • Small library/museum
  • Facility for arts and craft activities
  • Community café
  • Community garden

We are pleased to inform you that Calderdale MBC has awarded us a 30 year lease of the Luddenden Foot Civic Institute and we took over the management of the building on Monday, 1st April 2013.

Civic centre

Are you aware that the following organisations operate out of Luddenden Foot Civic centre:-

  • United Reformed Church
  • 0 - 5s Play Group
  • 3rd Halifax Boys Brigade Company
  • Luddenden Foot Womens Institute
  • Luddenden Foot Football Team
  • Luddenden Foot Football Team

We want to provide better amenities for these organisations and to make the Civic Institute a first class community centre for Luddendenfoot - but cannot do this without your support. You can help in the following ways:-

  • Become a member of Luddendenfoot Community Association
  • Join our list of volunteers willing to use their time and skills to help maintain the building
  • If you wish to run an activity or book the hall for a private party or event please contact us
  • If you own a business in the neighbourhood please join our corporate sponsorship scheme
  • As an individual be prepared to help with fundraising events
