Look what we’ve been doing!

Allsorts Social and Recreational Club started running last month at Luddenden Foot Civic Institute, Station Road on Wednesday afternoons from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The purpose behind the sessions is to bring people together so to reduce social isolation. Funding has been awarded by ‘Big Lottery’ to run the activities. Mrs Heather Hartwell Luddenden Foot Community Association said ‘ We realise that there are many people who live on their own or who stay at home during the day and feel lonely. We are giving the community the opportunity to come together for fun and to socialise. The sessions are currently being held in the lower hall to accommodate both able bodied and physically disabled people. During the last few weeks we have had the opportunity to try out flower arranging, making brooches from felt, decoupage as well as new age kurling, scrabble, dominos and time to have a chat over tea/coffee and a slice of cake.’

On Wednesday 6th August we will be trying card making and on 20th August Mr David Cant will be coming along to talk about local places of interest and we will be trying oil painting
