Luddenden Foot Community Association celebrated the centenary of the opening of the Civic Centre
Luddenden Foot Community Association celebrated the centenary of the opening of the Civic Centre on Station Road, Luddenden Foot with an exhibition of village life over the last 100 years.
The exhibition was put together by Rev Justine Wyatt, Community Minister for Luddenden Foot United Reformed Church (who worship in the centre) and Mr Andrew Dewhirst (pictured) an officer with 3rd Halifax (Luddenden Foot) Boys Brigade Company who meet in the centre.
The exhibition showed the railway station, various businesses and buildings which sadly are no longer part of the village and also showed activities which have been held in the village and some which are currently held in the Civic Centre.
Mrs Heather Hartwell (LCA – secretary), said ‘The exhibition shows that Luddenden Foot used to be an extremely busy village and had a very active community. The last 18 months has brought many changes to this building and we hope many more will take place in the next few years as we continue to work to make the building a centre for Luddenden Foot’.
